That's pretty sweet! I have an iRock right now and have to say that it sucks...

My new car only has a cd player (they are going to add a Line-In accessory for my radio which I'm going to pick up as soon as it's available... old car just used the old tape connector which worked great) but in the meantime if this lives up to Griffin's standard, I may have to pick one up!

Finally!

They announced this 6 months ago (or so).

I hope this works well! Everything else kind of sucks.

The transmitter covers up the firewire port...so no power in the car or wherever you're "broadcasting" to...

No, the website says it pivots out of the way. Sounds fine to me.

Sweet! Finally, a real solution. And their site says it swivels away so that you can charge it even while it is in use.

This is going to be great for me. I spend a lot of time in a plow truck with radio only in the winter. This would be great to bring to work.

But how do the FM transmitters work? Not technically but quality-wise? Is it the same as or worse than the "sony tape deck thingy" (Don't know the official term). If I had it my way, I'd use aux minijacks but my deck only has a tape deck input. So any adopters of the FM transmitters out there?

But doesn't the iTrip get its power from the firewire port? How is it powered when it is turned out of the way?

I still can not believe that it have to wait until spring to get one .

It draws power from the headphone socket. Similar to the way that the remote does.

I wonder what it does for battery life?

looks cool, but the quality will still suffer comparatively.
(worse) fm transmitters > tape deck thingy > aux input (best)

I wonder if you could combine it with a pair of those tiny headphones which have a mini radio built it, giving you....wireless headphones!!!

Admitedly you would loose te remote, but that's not too much of a problem.

I looked for a tiny wireless radio when I saw the iTrip, but couldn't find one. That'd be sweet if it looked okay. Has anyone found a compact headset radio online?

EDIT: Found one, not "tiny" though: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...%5Fid=12%2D931
