I just got one from Amazon with T-Mobile service, and I had a quick question for those who already have one. In the upper left corner of the phone there is a green light that flashes slowly when the phone is on. Anyone know what that is for? I'm sorry if this sounds dumb but I can't find a thing about this light in the owner's manual.

Thanks!

The owners manual is a work of art. It says lots of things but fails to address even the simplest of of questions.

The green light is to show that the phone is on and has adequate charge. If the battery is low the light flashes red. If you have bluetooth on a blue light flashes in the other top right corner.

actually no

the green light means that the phone has service, it will flash when the phone is not charging, and steady when its on the charger

You will find a other lamp indicator if you turn on Bluetooth... neat!

Thanks for the answers guys. I will test to see if the green light is for "battery life" or for "signal" soon. All I have to do is drive outside the coverage area and see what happens!

I recently went on an extended trip out into the "boonies" ... and verified that the flashing green light is indeed an indicator that the phone has service instead of a full charge. At some point the phone was still on with a full charge, but the green light went out when I lost the signal. Having said that, I have a follow-up question:

How do I know that the battery is fully charged? The reason why I ask is because when I initially charged it, I unplugged it after the battery icon was full animation stopped. I used it for a while until it was half charged .. .and then I charged it again. By then I had found the "Status" screen that gives an indication of the "Talk Time" that is left. Well, I charged it until the animation stopped, and the screen said I had about 6 hours of talk time. I plugged it back in for a while, even though there was no animation ... and when I unplugged it the status screen said I had about 8 hours of talk time.

I believe the specs for this phone said that it had 12 hours of talk time, so I kept it plugged up trying to get the phone to say I had that much ... but it never displayed anything over 8 1/2 hours for me.

So again ... how do I know that the battery is fully charged?
