Went to Compusa to pick up a printer for my daughter as a birthday present. She has a iBook 500. When I went to buy the USB cables all they had where USB2 cables. My question can I use a USB2 cable with her iBook 500? I doubt the printer would ever need USB2.

In a nut shell. Y E S. USB cables will be backward compatible. In fact, I would be worried if somebody was selling USB 1.1 at this point in time.
