Have any of you used your iPod as a PDA. What have been your experiences. I plan to purchase an iPod for music but if it can be used to store database type information even better. Thanks

The Contacts and Calendar features of the iPod are really there just as side dishes. They're convenient, but nothing amazing.
The iPod is an MP3 player, not a PDA. If it was meant to really act like a PDA, it would have a keyboard or touchscreen/stylus.

I agree with the previous messages. I briefly used the calendar and contact feature on the iPod, and synced it using iSync until the 1.0 release.

I found that without a way to input information it wasn't much use so got a second hand Palm off eBay and have been using that instead.

An iPod should not be used to replace something like a personal digital assistant. The organizer features of the iPod are a nice add-on, but not a big feature. However, a person who simply needs to hold an address book or etc. that does not usually change could use the iPod as an organizer with no problem.

Database storage? No way. Unless you're porting it from one Mac to another via the iPod. Kinda like the Human Genome Project

That's the way an iPod is good for storing a database. Anything else, forgetaboutit.

The Contacts & Calendars features come in handy. That's all. I've put directons to the Dr's office on an appointment once. I often look up numbers of friends too. Just handy.

I'm still waiting for the .Mac address book. That's gonna be awesome!
