Has anyone has any luck using the Offical HP deskjet driver for OS X with an old HP deskjet printer (DJ 850C is the one I have) which has a LocalTalk connection, and connected to ethernet using a LocalTalk -> Ethernet bridge?

I do know I can do exactly just that using the GIMP-Print driver under 10.2, but I want to know if I can do the same trick with an official HP driver.
