I got a 10 gig iPod for Christmas and I'm loving it. But there's one and only one thing I miss about my old panasonic portable cd player (the model with 3 seconds of antishock).

I miss the good bass. The iPod uses software equalization, the same used on iTunes, which I hate. My cd player had a switch on the side which when you turned on gave me a rich "analog" bass boost; it sounded great even on my $30 headphones. There was hardly if ever any distortion even on bass-heavy songs. Now on my iPod, many of my techno and punkrock songs have little bits of distortion caused by the "Bass Booster" eq setting in the iPod. And I never get a rich bass sound on my headphones like I used to from my cd player. Does anyone else feel the same way?
