I am curious on how does a hardware print server (you know, the hardware which connects a printer on one end using parallel port or USB, and ethernet connection to your network on the other end)? In particular,

1. Do you need a special driver for printers connected via a print server?

2. If I connect a PC printer to a print server, can I print it from a Mac?

3. I saw there's many different print server on the market, and most of them stated with PC requirements. Do I need to buy a print server specifically designed to use on a Mac, or would any print server will do??

BTW, would someone tell me whether it's worth to use the AirPort extreme base station as a USB print server?

Thanks in advance.
