I have a Canon N650U USB scanner, which worked great in OS 9. Now, Canon has released drivers for it (Canon Web Site ), but they only work with Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop elements. I thought that I was going to be able to use the Image Capture app with my scanners with 10.2. Will the ScanExpert application work with Image Capture? I am SOL with this scanner unless I get Photoshop? Canon has indicated that they have no plans on porting their Canoscan Toolbox app (which is what I used in OS 9) to OS X.

According to this page the CanoScan Toolbox is available for OSX. It just doesn't support your scanner yet. Until it does, it looks like you're only option is to use Photoshop.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

You should be able to use your Photoshop scanner plug-in with newest GraphicConverter.
