You wouldn't need drivers - the device appears as if it were connected to a serial port.

You would need a GPS app like http://www.gpsy.com/

Hi,

Spent a couple of hours today to get the thing working with OSX (Route 66 2001/2002 app)

The problem is that the device is recognized by the Bluetooth SysPref panel, but no serial port can be specified with an incoming route.
Route66 doesn't see it.

Socket and Route66 support depts have no clue.

Did anybody get this working - in what app...?

try making it an outward bound serial port - does that help?

perhaps this app may help as well:

It says on the page that the device will work with:

Destinator
Mapopolis
Pharos
TeletypeGPS

The only one of these that I recognize is Mapopolis, which is for a Palm PDA.

It says it will work with any NMEA compatible app.

Which must be a GPS protocol. - I love standards - they mean that you don't have to rely on the hardware manufacturers to implement good software - external developers can do it.

I just came across this Bluetooth GPS device today. Has anyone successfully gotten this to work on a 12" AlBook?
