I use the Imation SuperDisk Drive with OS 10.2.3.
I have to reset the drive (ie., unplug the electrical connection and replug after 10 seconds or so) or else it will not start to read the disk and the disk icon will not appear on the screen. I have the drive plugged directly into my iMac.
Occasionally, it works properly.
Any suggestions?

Heh, you don't have to wait that long . Before I insert a disk into the SuperDisk drive, i unplug the power cord from the back and replace it right away. I don't know if theres a fix. Oh well. Stupid superdisk drive ......

i never heard of this work around before. i wish i had known about this plugging/un-plugging before...
unfortunately i thought that my imation was totally dead and i actually threw it away a few weeks ago.
youre right to call it stupid imation.
when the superdrive first came out i thought that it would gain better acceptance. too bad.
anyway, when i went in search of a new fdd to replace my thrown out imation because i had one disk from a client which i needed to read that day, it was really difficult to find ANY fdd in stores here in japan. so much is the complete vindication of Job's initial bondiblue iMac not having any fdd.
thnx
