If anyone has purchased from TigerDirect, please let me know your opinions of their service. I'm building a PC (I know, I know...) and they seem to have decent prices and selection.

i much prefer www.newegg.com. if you can find the part there, order there. i've made several orders of various components (motherboards, processors, ram, video cards, cases, among other things) and all have been delivered extremely fast and with no problems. My friend ordered some ram from there and the stick he recieved didn't work and he called and got a full refund after the return period had expired.

I have not purchased anything from TigerDirect, but there were some posts over at www.fatwallet.com where some customers were complaining about their service [if I recall correctly].

I bought hard drives from www.newegg.com, they have always been excellent, and have a good reputation. Another store is www.googlegear.com, but I have no experience with them.

I used to use them back when they sold Mac stuff, and their prices were some of the best. Since they stopped supplying Mac stuff, I've avoided them until last month, when I got a digital camera.

So, in the past month, I've sent two orders for memory sticks. The service has been timely and I've had no problems.

I've never had to return anything to them, so I don't know about their after-sales customer service.

They send many catalogs and e-mails once you get on their list.

newegg.com definitely for building a new pc. they have the best prices, reasonable shipping, plus much better customer service than the majority of online stores.

I've heard bad things about Tiger's service, but never actually ordered from them.

I have purchased components to bulid 2
PC computers from them everything from case to CPU.

No problems with parts, delivery times ok.

Haven't used customer service or made any returns.

Don't buy CD-ROM drives from them you can find cheaper prices in other places.

Good experience with them

I've purchased from TigerDirect several times (UPS, firewire card, CF), never had a problem. Their shipping is on the high side, so always take that into consideration when price checking. I've seen complaints at other places, but just hasn't happened to me.

Thanks, all for the input. I'll definitely check out newegg.com as well. Now if only I could build a Mac as easily
