The subject says it all. I want to use my Bluetooth enabled iMac as an Internet Gateway for my Tungsten...is this doable?

Thanks!

I'm almost sure that it is possible with the right software and etc. There is a lot of information about this at the Palm Boulevard forums. Look under "Tungsten Handhelds & Software"

sounds doable. Other IR phones can do an IR conncetion so I can't see why bluetooth wouldn't be doable.

It'll be slow. Really slow, however.

Why will it be slow, I use dial up at 64kbs I thought BT is 11mbs. Surely the dial up is slower than the BT network connection, or have I got it all wrong

I don't believe it will be slow. The speed of Bluetooth is fast. The only thing that is limited is the range, which I don't believe matters in your case. The dial up will definitely be slower. Good luck.

It is doable using pppd and natd, although it's not easy. There's an article over at MacOSXHints that semi-worked.

Bluetooth is 1Megabit/sec by the way, not super fast but enough for net browsing, although WebBrowser Pro sucks butt on my TT.

Everyone with a TT is waiting for PalmOS 5.2 which should included the proxyless WebBrowser2 from PalmSource and the audio fix to enable high quality audio.
