Hi all,
So I'm bummed about the fact that my SuperBook won't burn DVD-RW, but I have an internal Sony DRU-500 DVD-/+R/RW drive that I could put in a Firewire case. That way I can use it with both machines. I realize the iApps won't like it, but that's OK. I just need Toast, or even OS X itself to like it. Anyone know if this thing works with OS X before I rip it out of my PC?

Beat me to the punch. I'm also wondering how much trouble it will be to use this drive. I have a Sony connection who can hook me up for cheap, but if it's not going to work with my mac I don't want her to go through all the steps needed to hook me up. Right now my options are the 2 Sony DVD+/- RW drives (internal and external w/ FW) and the Spressa 52x CD-RW drive.

Will any of these work with iTunes or iDVD (with or without "tweaking")? What about disc burning through the Finder and Disc copy? Anyone know anything or can suggest something I can do to try to find out (aside from just plugging in the drive and seeing if it works)??

I would check over at the Accelerate Your Mac site... their drive database would probably have something like that.

Cheers.
