Who has a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical USB, what drivers are you using, do they let you scroll with Appleworks and if you are using it with iBook/Powerbook can you get the 'Ignore trackpad' to work??
Thanks

I've got an Intellimeese (same thing??). I'm using Intellipoint 3.1.
Scroll wheel doesn't work in AppleWorks 6.2.4.

edit:
(Yes, I do mean the optical kind with a scroll wheel, usb, and five buttons.)

I am using two of those, one using with Mac OS 9, and the other using OS X. Both using Microsoft driver (if no driver installed, it would still works with no functionality on the wheel or the right button).

I haven't tried on AppleWorks or on a PowerBook, but I can try it in a few days time with no one else have the answer you are looking for.

I'm using the Wheel Mouse Optical USB with a G4 and OS X (10.2). I haven't installed any software. In Appleworks 6.2, the right button works but the wheel doesn't. In Word v.X, both work. Haven't tried this mouse on my Powerbook yet

I sometimes use my little brother's Intelli. Worked without a glitch, I didn't install any drivers. Scrollwheel and three mouse buttons worked without any issues.

I'm using one of those with my Tibook. It worked with no problems, as soon as I plugged it in, but to get the extra functionality of the buttons, you need to download the driver from MS website.

I've got both a logitech MX 500 and the MS Intellimouse and while both work in most applications for scrolling (they need the respective 3rd party software to use all the buttons) neither will scroll in Appleworks...
