Just when I thought this miserable day was over, I drop my handspring visor on my tile floor and kapow....it literally shatters and is no more. Hoped to get it put back together and working for one last sync but had no luck.

It could have been worse. I last synced on 3 days ago. I have added a couple dozen entries since then, a couple of which are important ones that I'm struggling to remember exactly the times they were to occur, but I suppose I'll live. But this is still a major bummer.

So...at the risk of everyone telling me I should have run a search....what is the best replacement for my Visor? I'm running OS 10.2.3, with latest versions of ical and isync.

I have a feeling I'll be much more careful when I'm holding onto my new palm device. I wish samsonite made a palm pilot.

If buying now, I would consider the Sony Clies, which are excellent value, and great performers to boot.

I usually tend to shy away from Sony products, but their Clie PDAs have won me over.

You have to run a third party app to sync the Sony devices with OS X, The missing sync.
I'd recommend something like a m130 or such, It will also sync faster than the visor did. I was surprised at the sync speed differences between my Prism and m130.

I'd like to get a handheld that has 16 mb memory. My dropped visor was previously my wife's and I got it when she need a handheld with more memory.

However, there is one thing that I'd really like to be able to do with my new handheld. Is there a way to have different "calanders" on my handheld like I do in iCal? For example, anything I input on my handheld shows up in iCal as "unfiled" Do any of the new handhelds have the capability to do this?

I like the looks of the sony's best. So basically if I have a sony and "the missing sync" I am not limited in any way?

I thought so too, but my PEG-S320 syncs fine through iSync to iCal and Address book without any additional third-party software (you do need Palm Desktop too).

I'm not sure how the new Clies sync with Macs. But you can check at this forum:
