anyone with a 12" PB tried to use this mouse, since i am going to get the 15" if they decide to update them and think it would be a good purchase since the explorer mouse is super comfortable and i like the idea of bluetooth

Please search the recent threads before you post a new topic.

In addition, this is not the right forum for a thread pertaining to mice.

True. After all, the guy is really a MacNN cop!

But seriously, what better place is there to ask about peripheral compatibility with a certain NEW model of Powerbook than a high-traffic forum like the Powerbook forum? Huh?

And no, I have nothing to offer the original inquiry except to agree with the dude who said mice are not the most ideal use for bluetooth. At least probably not if you need it to be responsive for games etc...

Actually it is somewhat relevant to this forum specifically, because the new 12" PowerBooks have a modified version of 10.2.3 that includes two new bluetooth utilities...

One more time:

THE MICROSOFT BLUETOOTH INPUT DEVICES ARE NOT SUPPORTED ON MACS.

My Microsoft RF wireless keyboard and mouse work great in OS X.2 though, with awesome drivers.

The other thread was originally posted in the PowerBook forum, but the moderator moved it to "Peripherals" because it belongs there.

So you're saying that even though 17" PowerBook has BUILT-IN Bluetooth, nooooooooo, let's plug in a wireless receiver anyway just for the mouse!

Come on, that comment in the other thread about bluetooth being designed for T68s is as stupid as saying Firewire was designed for iPods... there are other (and more appropriate) devices out there that use bluetooth, there's way more potential for bluetooth than a contacts list on a mobile phone, and there's more bluetooth equipped mobile phones than just the T68...

bluetooth works with more than just Powerbooks. This is a peripherals topic.
Thanks!

If I know well, this Bluetooth stuff from MS use a tweaked version of BT, there works only with its BT original adapter. No luck.
