Just yesterday, I tried ejecting my iPod from my computer, and it worked. however, it took a very long time, and when it finally ejected, all of the songs on my iPod disappeared. The computer doesn't even recognize my iPod anymore! In the "about" menu, though, it shows that the same amount of space on the HD is still taken up (meaning the songs are still there somehow).

I tried resetting the ipod, etc. Has anyone had this same problem, or would anyone know how to go about this? If not, I'll just go to Apple.

assuming you have copies of all your ipod's songs on your computer, you could try doing a restore from the ipod software updater and see if that helps.

then re-sync all your songs over.

i suspect apple might just do the same.

My computer doesn't even recognize my iPod anymore. I cannot do anything! (and I DON'T want to spend the amount it costs for a new iPod just to fix it)
