i just got my t68i along with a bluetooth adapter this past weekend. Absolutely love the phone except that is so tiny and it is not fitting my hand well.
Plug and play, syncing is truly working with Mac, something that windows world cannot really compare! When i demonstrated how to use address book answer and dial phone calls without lifting my phone out of my pocket, my colleagues just went nuts.
Anyway, i have questions for other t68i owners because i could not find an answer from the included menus and t-mobile website. The battery seems to be lith-polymer, the same one used in ipod, so how's the battery life? should i charge it frequently when not in use or should i wait til it's running out?
Also i have noticed my phone flashing its light all day if i leave it on, will it decrease the battery life? is there any way to make the light not flash when it leaves on?

A. the Ericsson Phones have a indicator lamp (to the upper left) that tells you that it has access to the local GSM-network) On the right side the t68i has a another indicator lamp that blinks only if you have Bluetooth interface activated.
However if you have bluetooth enabled on your phone it will drain your phones battery more rapidly I cantīt tell how much mayby 25-35% less standby time on your phones battery .
Regarding charging the batterys on your phone itīs recommended that you charge when the phone is giving "low battery" messages. Otherwise the LiON battery are less "kranky" regarding charging and how often you charge becouse the liON batterys are almost always controlled by a "smart" program that controls the charging and power of the battery cells!

we just had a discussion about prismatic batteries and something about polymer batteries earlier.
prismatic battery
I have a T68 as well, and I have to say that I am not happy with this phone at all.
It is very unfortunate, because I once was an ericsson user, but went over to nokia. Over the last couple of years, Nokia has really suffered from bad build quality on their phones, and I thought I could give ericsson another try. I bought myself a t68, and a t66 for my girlfriend (she really likes tiny, tiny phones, and don't need all the bells and whistles of the t68).
Now there are a couple of things with this phone. (please note, I have a t68, not t68i, but with upgraded software)
1. The light in the keys is horrible. If you look at your phone in a sort of not light/not dark condition...at dusk you might call it, the light is not powerful enough to light up the keys, but it is giving just enough light to actually make the numbers magically dissappear!
2.When I go out of an area of coverage (you know, when you get "SOS calls only" on the screen) and come back into an area with coverage, I have to turn the phone off and back on again to get the phone to pick up a signal.
3.The colour screen!
I don't know about everyone else, but I have not found a single good use for a colour screen on my mobile. I don't take pictures with the phone (the camera is a joke), and games...well they only get that little bit more exciting with a colour screen...No point if you ask me.
Ehm, there's more, but we'll leave it at that. I just wanted a phone with bluetooth and infrared, and this was pretty much the only phone on the market at the time with small size/no antennae/bluetooth/IR...
The light does blink, blink all the time. It is an ericsson feature. They have had this for as long as I can remember...at least back 6-7 years when I used ericsson last.
The battery says LiPolymer, but there are no pure lithium polymer batteries out at this time for handheld products. Please see the link earlier.
BTW....my girlfriends t66 seems much better to me. As long as you want to use your phone for messaging and phonecalls only.

Ok ok, so what is the final word? IF you want to make sure your T68i's battery lasts a long time should you charge it every night or only when the battery is low?

i am sorry to hear that some of you don't like t68i. But this is the first phone i really enjoy for a long time. I just don't like its foot print, because it is so tiny.
I live in NYC, where i don't have to buy a cell phone in order to use it. I get to enjoy a new phone every year when i sign up for one year plan. I used mostly at&t and nokia all my life, but i just don't like the fact that nokia's phone look all the same.
I really enjoy t-mobile, they have great service range in my area and this phone works great. I think every phone nowaday has a color screen built in so it is really nothing. But i like this phone because i can easily drop pictures of my contact lists so when they call me and i can see their faces on the screen. I can also easily customize my stand by and desktop background with infrared and bluetooth.
As for the battery, i am still trying to see how it works out!

I agree. My t68i is the best phone I have ever owned. I owned Nokia's all my life and will never go back to them.
The new sony p800 looks incredible.

Yo! itīs nothing wrong with NOKIA phones just dont buy them the first 3 monts after a new phone is released.
You know they have to remove the debug code!

I chose a t720i (motorola) over the t68i.
Reasons? Bigger screen, and it flips!
Locking keys is ok but it's much easier to just flip the thing open/closed when you need it and usually the screen goes off = more standby time
Of course, startac style phones are famous for their lousy batteries so that thing will probably see it's charger more than it sees my head
I'm a big fan of phones that have a battery that can hold a charge (while off) for a long time, this is how mine spends it's time anyway

I got the t68i only two weeks ago. It's a nice phone, bluetooth works well though the whole discovering routine is annoying.
The colour screen is good if only to have pictures come up when family and friends ring you. Gif's work well as screensavers. I would question the week and a half time for the battery though. I get about three days on all the time with about 20-30 minutes of calls and bluetooth on for about 30 minutes of that. It works well with the mac and that is why I got it.

What is the "discovering routine" all about? Does it take a long time for the Mac and phone to connect to each other???

No, you just have to take about 5 seconds and dig through the phones menues to tell it to talk to the Mac every time you want to sync.

i also like t720i, my father got it two weeks ago. One major flaw for t720i is the design though. Most cell phones have dial key (usually indicate by green color) on the right hand side and hang up key (red) on the left, however, t720i reverse that, so it works against your nature.
And I chose t68i for its bluetooth capabiltiy.

How do you hold your phone? Can you read Ericsson at the top or nosscirE at the bottom?

I think my eyeballs went the wrong way around when I looked at my phone.
It's hangup on right, dial on left.
