I just installed a Cendyne 4x DVD-rw drive in my G4 400 APG running 10.2.3. Everything is working fine, (bootable, burns dvd-r, etc.) except that the eject button on the keyboard doesn't eject the cd. This would only be mildly annoying but the disc that is mounted on the finder is no longer visible, and it doesn't remount the cd unless I restart the computer, and then I can drag the cd to the trash to eject it. Anyone know why this is? I'd rather not have to restart every time I accidently hit the eject button.

I also purchased the Cendyne (Pioneer A105 drive) but to use in an external Firewire case.

It is recognized but won't burn DVDs and I remembered reading that OWC had a patch to enable this but that Apple made them quit and remove it.

I don't know an answer to your eject plight (perhaps it's a software fix) , but maybe you have an idea how I might enable my drive externally (I am going to switch the jumper to slave tomorrow from Master).

I use Toast 5.2 successfully on another Cendyne 52x24x52 external Firewire CDRW flawlessly.

Does your drive record at 4 X ?

Does anyone have the OWC patch to help me?

maybe you've already done it and though it isn't ideal, can't you just flip the door open and hit the eject button on the drive?

does your 105 work with idvd, toast and all that, fit in your case ok, etc? I'm considering getting one for my dp533, I had swapped it's stock cdr to a faster burner, then switched that to a combo, now it seems it's time to go super.
