Just wanted to see if anyone else out there was in love with the basestation like I am. I am sitting in my apartment, and I just printed a paper to my study from my couch in my living room.
iBook + Airport + AEBS = JOY

At least on paper the thing looks great. The USB print sharing alone would probably have made me buy it instead of the D-link router I ended up with (which works fine for what it is.)
What's it like configuring the printer hanging off the basestation?
Apple did a good job with the upgrade, especially since the old one had become so ridiculously uncompetitive at $300.

Printersharing is cool huh! I love doing that now with my 12" PB. My printer is shared on my PowerMac though not on a basestation.

Printer sharing is great. To answer the question above, you plug your usb printer into the BS, and then select it from the rendesvous option in Print center.
Cool.

Where did you get the base station? An Apple Store? CompUSA? Too bad the iBook can't use the extreme speeds... wish they made a card for THAT... but it's all part of Uncle Steve plan to get us to buy new macs every year.

I just got my new Apple airport extreme basestation ( with modem ), and Im loving it. I have it hooked up to my earthlink DSL modem and it runs as fast truw the airport as it does when I have my powermac connected directly to the dsl modem. I got mine at the Apple store in the roosevelt filed mall in Long Island New York. I also picked up a bluetooth adapter so that I can put it in my iBook and dial my basestation at home thruw my cell phone whenever Im not home and need the net or the files in my Powermac at home.

I ordered my basestation from the apple online education store, my local one didn't have any yet.
It was $248, no shipping charge, and made it hear from Taiwan in 2 days.
I wish the iBook could support Extreme speeds too, but oh well.
