I was wondering if any of you MacNN Forums browsers currently had a TiBook (15") or a new PowerBook and a new Apple 20" Display used in tandem? If put on a notebook stand such as the iCurve or LapVantage Dome, would the bottoms line up a bit better for screen-spanning usage? Pictures would be nice as well if anyone could find any! Thanks!

Anyone know if the bottoms would line up enough so that using screen-spanning would work decently?

I was thinking about doing this with my PB867, but I was going to use something like a coolpad next to the 20" along with an external keys and mouse and just letting the display span.

I'd like to hear from anyone with this setup also.

According to the icurve website. a 15 in pb would have the top of the screen at 16 in. which lines up with the Apple 17 inch Monitor. To find out where the bottom lines up, just subtract the height of the pb screen from 16. Sorry don't have a pb or 20 inch monitor to give you a definite answer, but this should give you what you need to figure it out.

I'm using a 22" ACD with my TiBook. I have my TiBook on a Coolpad Podium set at its lowest level. For me that works just fine. It feels odd having my TiBook elevated too high. I also use an external keyboard and mouse with my setup. Works great for me. Here's a pic:

dannyn, thank you SO much! That's exactly the pic I was searching for...your setup looks beautiful that way, and am I correct in assuming that you're using screen-spanning in that picture?

Also, have you been able to compare your 22" ACD to the new 20" ACD? Many say the 20" looks *so much better*, but does it look good enough to get it over the 23"?

Yes, I'm using screen spanning. Best way to work.

I haven't seen the 20" and the 22" side by side, but I can say that the 20" is really nice. It looks really nice compared to the 23" though. Bright, crisp, sharp. The 23" is no slouch, mind you. I think it's just the 20" seems brighter because it's newer and sharper because the pixel density seems tighter. You should head down to the nearest Apple Store to check it out for yourself.
