Hey all, i have the soundsticks, and they are very clear, but i was wondering, how is the bass from the subwoofer for those of you who have them? the bass, even when turned up on the sub is not very apparent, it's very low sounding actually. so at normal listening volumes you can barely hear that it is there. can anyone confirm this is right? the bass that comes out is very clean, it's just...not very powerful, at all. maybe there is something wrong with my soundsticks?

Bass from my SoundSticks is superb; have got it at about midpoint.
May sound like a silly question, but have you checked the equalizer in iTunes - maybe the bass is turned right down?
The ouptut from the bass unit will depend hugely on where it is and what's below it. For instance, carpet would dampen it considerably.

What surface do you have your sub on? I had mine sitting on my desk for a while and it was ok, I had it sitting on the carpet and couldn't hear it, but finally I put it on the floor, upagainst a wall sitting on an old year book and the bass is now fantastic!

For some goofy reason, after I wake my G4 from sleep, the iSub won't kick in until I unplug it then replug it.
Yes, it really needs to be placed on a hard surface; I went to a frame shop that cuts plexiglass (or whatever it is), and they sold me a 10" square piece of scrap.

right now mine is on carpet, as soon as i get home tonight i will put it on a peice of wood (which will still be on carpet...but at least the sub is sitting on a very reflective surface). if this solves the problem, then i will be very very happy, as i like the soundsticks a lot, but was disappointed in the bass output. i guess i didn't think about the carpet thing, since all the other sub's i've had (which is a lot...i think i've got a speaker fetish) sat right on the carpet and it didn't seem to detract from the output. i'll keep you posted...

you will get best sound response from any sub when placed in a corner of a room, it uses the resonace frequency of the room and shoots it out like a cone.
btw do you notice when you unplug the sub?
because it is designed so you can't pin point the sub, audibly
