...but, if I bring my Lacie 120GB Mac OsX formatted/installed Firewire to work, can I hook it up to my work PC running Win 2000 and easily transfer files? Do I have to log in? I'd just try it, but I'm concerned about cross-platform issues (ie. corruption or loss of all my data on the Firewire!). I have a firewire card on the PC at work.

Any responses helpful!

I've never worked with Firewire on a PC but my hunch would be that you'd need something like MacOpener from Dataviz to access the drive since it's a Mac-formatted disk. But I don't know why it wouldn't work once that obstacle is cleared...

Thanks for the response. I actually don't want to access anything from the Mac - I want to copy a digital video file from the PC to the Mac....

I don't believe Win2K (or any version of windows) will recognise Mac formatted disks. You'll need to run, as -Q- mentioned, third party software on your PC, such as MacDrive from Media Four;

Mac Drive for Media Four

Of course I could be wrong

[Edited: Replaced indirect link with a direct link to Mac Drive's features...]
