Is there an inexpensive LCD monitor that will render color fairly accurately? The Apple 17" with the adapter is pushing $850. I've seen other 17" monitors going for much less, such as a Cardinal for $430. The Cardinal looked nice at the store with the titanium and black finish, but on a huge monitor wall display there was no way to really compare its actual picture in real apps. Even Costco had 17 LCDs, but of course you can't even turn them on. Any suggestions or should I save the cash and go with a big ol' CRT?

I recently purchased a "VPR Matrix" 17" flat panel at Best Buy for $299 after rebates. It supposedly uses a Samsung LCD and features both analog and DVI connections. Don't know about color management, as I don't work in DTP, but all looks good to me.
