My company is looking for cheap LCDS, for 500 bucks i can get a dell 17" LCD. I heard that dell 17" is actually pretty good. But since they don't have it display in any other computer stores, i can't tell if this is really good as advertised, especially the viewing angle.

Should i spend 200 more and get an apple 17" studio display? I have one myself and i think it is great. But i'm working within a budget and if it is good as the apple 17", i might have to go for it.

hey there-

I have a buddy who has that monitor and it's actually very nice. i wouldn't go as far to say it's in the same class as the Apple displays but it's not too shabby. I've read several reviews of the Apple dsiplays and they all say the same thing, they're great. Apparently the screen quality and color uniformity is outstanding on the Apple displays, The Dell was enjoyable to use but I have no technical details or reviews to comment from.

The Cnet reviews for the Dells are decent but not anywhere as flattering as the Apple reviews:
