Have any of you used this printer to print digital photos? I have tried printing on high quality glossy photo paper using the 2880 printing option and my results are poor at best. I have found that if I print a picture of any kind it is quite pixilated. I was hoping someone might be able to help me figure out what could be causing it to print so poorly. It doesn't matter if I print using Photoshop, iPhoto, or Word, I get the same poor results. I am running 10.2.4. Thanks in advance for any help/pointers you have.

I also have an Epson 880 and hopped on here to hopefully find something that will improve my printing experience but I have had no success. The one thing that I have done to improve printing was to install Gimp Print Link Here. It allows one to really alter or fine tune the settings. I found that if I were to decrease the resolution it actually improved printing. You might give that a shot.

As for me, my printer has been dropping ink and I can't get a damn clean print anymore. I've changed the ink cartidges and that didn't make any difference. This will be the last Epson printer I ever purchase. It is horrible for printing pictures even though it is highly touted as being designed for that intended purpose.

Oh well...

Well, first of all, you need to be sure that your source images are of sufficient resolution. On that printer, your minimum image resolution is going to be about 240pixels per inch.

If you print to PDF using the same settings, and then you zoom in on the PDF, does it turn pixellated too soon?

Also, from my Epson-owning days, I can tell you that printing at 1440dpi looks just as good as the 2880dpi mode, but takes a lot less time to print. Heck, even 720dpi "Photo" mode is practically indistinguishable.
