I keep reading people saying that the backlight is the 1st thing to die on an LCD screen. I just got my first desktop LCD screen (the apple 20") and was curious how big of an issue the backlight dying really is? What type of lifespan are we talking about?

I'm not sure, but I think it's around 50,000 hours. I'm not sure if this is for the backlight to lose half it's brightness, or if it dies completely...
