Okay I have been comtemplating snaging another monitor for the past few months, i currently have the Apple 17 inch ADC CRT, its pluged into my Nvidia Gforce 2MX twinview card, and i have a free VGA port and extra desktop space just yearning for another monitor.

My only requirements is that i only got 300 (includding shipping) to spend, so the rules out LCDs and i would like somthing equal to or greater then my 17" i have had my eye on this viewsonic

Tomshardware.com gave it a good review for the money. so what are some others, i know Sony's and Mitsus are nice but i think if i snag a 19, which i really really want, i will be going over my budget

Get your fix here: CNet Revew Center for Monitors

They show you the pros/cons and also where you can get 'em...make sure you check PriceGrabber for the lowest bottom line pricing on anything you are seriously looking into.

I would advise you to save some more money unless you really need a new monitor now. It's the first lesson I learned after buying my (first and last) PC -- never save on the monitor.

My brother did it nevertheless and his 19" is terrible, far worse than my four-year old Formac 19" (I was lucky and got it used for 350 $ -- not bad for a 19" in good shape two and a half years ago).

Really, save at least 100 $ more, then buy a nice 19".
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

but cnet said that it was one of the better monitors, but i see where your coming from.

i just wish i could see these monitors before i buy, but Best buy only has crap on hand, same with curcuit city, how well, i might make a trip down to state stree discount.

like i said, i don't really need the monitor now anyways, it will be a second one.
