It's worth a look.

It's more "do it yourself" than CompUSA. You better know what you're looking for or speak Indian, though

It's also messier, and half the stuff is "returned" and re-sealed and sold as new. But if you're a hobbyist you can do well there (of course most Mac stuff is sold as full systems).

I found an airport extreme card for sale there, well it was just a box -- the card was missing!

Fry's is way bigger than CompUSA - in addition to computers, it carries anything electronics-related or gadget-related. Components, tools, appliances, TVs, radios, hi-fi, cameras, you-name-it. And it carries more varieties of each than anywhere else. It's as if you took a CompUSA, a Radio Shack, and a Best Buy, combined them together, and then multiplied by three. It's a gadget-lover's paradise.

frys was once the mecca of the silicon valley.

now it's pretty similar to other stores.

I really like Fry's. Their selection is good and their prices are often very good. Sometimes they have somewhat limited Mac stuff, but they always have lots of Macs and iPods. I only wish they would move to Seattle as well.
