The price tag of $299 seems pretty good. My kodak DC 4800 is showing it's age, and doesn't take good pictures any more. I like the 6X optical zoom, but it is all about picture quality. I'd especially like to hear how well it does in low light situations or action shots.

thanks,

lw

I'm thinking about ordering one. I just sold my Nikon Coolpix 885, which was a great camera. I had originally planned to buy a Nikon D-100, to replace it, but the price is a little more than I should spend now, and I really miss having a digital camera.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

I have owned one for about 4 months. The optical zoom is great, and the thing seems to take really good pictures, at least for amateur purposes. However, if you are looking for a camera that's good in low-light situations, this isn't the one. There is no optical viewfinder (both are LCDs), and it is very difficult to acquire and/or focus on something in low light. I would recommend something else for low-light situations.

Anyone have any suggestions? I hate it when my indoor low light pictures turn out pixalated.

thanks,
