Getting one of these for critical digital photo work. Was planning on the 23", but have "heard" the 20" may have better image quality. It is newer, could be....anyone have an opportunity to compare. Getting one this week so any help is greatly appreciated.....Peter

I believe the 20" is a tad brighter, which can make for a better image. But otherwise I'm not sure if there's really much difference.
I've got a 17" and I'm hoping to get a 20" to sit beside it. That will do it for me, with the file browsing and management on the smaller monitor in creative apps.

I think everything you'll need to know can be found in this thread:
"20" Best Looking Apple Display Available, PERIOD ( 1 2 )"
It's currently near the bottom of Page 3 in this Perph. Forum, but may be atop page 4 soon (Can't link to it b/c of personal comp. issues at the moment...)
Hope this helps!

assassyN- Thanks!! It helped a lot.... Sounds like you really have to look at them. The luminance on the 20" is higher, so it will appear brighter, but that can be a problem as well. I suspect that a well calibrated 23" could be better, as it has greater contrast, and for photography that is more important., I believe. Gotta head to an Apple store....Peter

No problem! Also, this great review may give you some insight on how the 23" performed on some photo-intensive work

I got the 23" today, well it's on the way. Went to comp USA and checked the 20/23 side by side, and I just liked the look of the 23" better. There was slightly better sharpness with the increased resolution. While the 20" has higher luminance, there was no additional detail in highlights of the images, and I would most likely turn it brightness down if I were working photos anyway. The 20" is a great looking monitor though, no question. Thanks for the comments....Peter

I just got a 23. It's beautiful. Darks are dark, lights are light. Also,it's MORE than bright enough. I fear for those with the 20" that they'll burn out their eyes if they're not carefull.
