I was in a Software, Etc. store the other day, and I saw a neat item...an iLink hub for PS2s. That got me thinking...If I used 4-pin to 6-pin FireWire cables for my devices, could I use that as a FireWire hub? ..like this..

CDRW [6]-------[4]
iPod [6]---------[4] PS2 [4]----[6] Mac
DV Cam [6]----[4] Hub

Would that work? If so, the hubs are only $40, which is cheaper than other FireWire hubs.

FYI: They also have an "XBox" 4-port 10/100 hub with 4 lengths of cat5, also for $40 total. Good deal.

tecnicaly it is a firewire hub, but it is only 4 pin so you won't be powering that ipod. and i don't think the ps2 will reconize any of the hard ware, one way to find out though!

i have always wanted to try my 6 pin to 4 pin cable to try and see if it would reconize my ipod.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!
