Hi, my parents bought me a cheap printer...a Lexmark Z22. Even though we have had many problems with Lexmark...it was cheap and so they bought it for me...and now...I'm having more problems with my new PowerBook. I can't seem to get it to work properly.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a moderately priced printer that was well supported under OS X. I am not familiar with OS 9 and am just learning how to use OS X. Thank you very much.

i bought the canon i850 ($150 after $30 rebate and Dell 10% off). the osX driver must be downloaded from the web, but otherwise it works perfectly for me. and is a very good and fast printer.

Try an HP 5550, good quality printing, and Apple has a good deal on it if you buy a new Mac. Otherwise, its only $150. Also, I just bought a HP psc 2210 for my XP box and it is supposedly all ready to go for X, but I've just been printing through my network to it. I'm also getting an HP 3820 when my new PM arrives this week... free after rebate .

for less than $150 you can pick up a Samsung ML 1210 laser printer. 12ppm with decent print quality and LONGER toner life than inkjets ($79 for about 4000 pages in tonersaver mode vs. $25 per ink cart per 400-500 pages on inkjets). i'm running it on 10.2.4 right now without a glitch. (you'll have to download the latest drivers most likely from the samsung sight. you may have a hard time finding a new one since it was replaced with the ML 1430 (also works great with 10.2.4 after the updated driver is installed.
