30 minutes may be an unreasonable amount of time to be 'bumping' your post. This board doesn't get THAT much traffic.
I've heard the speakers in stores, and they sound pretty good, for computer speakers that is. If you want nice looking and decent sounding computer speakers, these should fit the bill. The volume control mechanism is great too!
However, if you're looking for HiFi sound, you should be considering running a line out from your sound card to a suitable amp, and some good speakers.

Sorry xtal... and thankz gizzard but I saw their review and I was looking for some real hardcore facts about the system: dbs, response, signal, noise, graphics, blah blah...

if you are that concerned with the specs then i think you need to find somthing with more guts, i personaly think a real set up, such as a DD 5.1 system hooked up to any computer, is the only way to go.

i have them. for everyday casual use theyre fine. if you are a hard core audiophile, these would not be for you. w/some mp3's they seem a little "tinny" but i do believe that has more to do with the encoding than the speakers. bass response is seemingly very good. overall these units have a decent amount of range, especially with the eq in itunes. just my thoughts.

Mine look nice on my wall. Unfortunately it's just a poster of them, but from MacWorld. That's exciting. Except I wasn't there.

I have pro speakers/isub, which is CLOSE, but the creatures are smaller.
If you want sweet sound, try them, they're not that bad.
I want a set for my bedroom
but the soundsticks will be better, and if you want white or silver, go to www.newegg.com and get a nice $25 off

I prefer the soundsticks over the JBl creature. The sound from soundstick are clean and clear. The JBL creature are cheaper and good thing about it you can control bass and treble. The sound of JBL creature are not ground breaking. Cheaper speakers are comparable.

i recently got the jbl creatures from amazon and i love them. they are a good size, they have good volume, and they match my yaoBook perfectly! i'm gonna be using them next year in my dorm room, and they will be perfect for that. i highly recommend them. for the price, they can't be beat.

My frient has some but my monsoons sound better IMO and he agrees. Also the Monsoons feel better. those creatures are light and seem easy to break. However they have the coolest volume control.
if you want to spend $99+ (I think they are 129 or something like that) on some speakers they are worth it for the full effect of looks/sound/features but for sound alone...I would and went for some monsoons.
