Does the cheapie SiPix Snap digital camera connect to the Mac (OSX)? The specs. only list PC, but it has USB. I'm wondering if this will be able to import .jpgs into my Mac?

well that's for iPhoto, but i think OSX can read additional cameras that are not necessarily listed for iPhoto.

I'm unfamiliar with that camera, but you could always buy a Smartmedia or Compact Flash card reader (whatever storage format that particular camera uses) and load the pics into your Mac that way. Those readers are cheap (generally about $20).

As a last ditch, you could try to get it to mount on the desktop and drag the pics over.

A friend of mine bought a camera which was not listed as supported under iPhoto. It was some samsung camera. When plugged in it mounted two disk imagiges on the desktop, and she was able to import photos via iPhoto. I don't know if the Mac will recognize this thing as an external drive of not, that, of course, would be the answer to you question. Someone else I knew bought a real cheap $50 jobby and tried to use it on a PC with it's software (cheap bastard too) and he returned it b/c he couldn't get it to work right, plus there was no way to tell if you actually took the picture, no feed back. Buy it and try it, if it doesn't work, return it. I won't bother asking why you want such a cheap device, I mean not even a media slot, really.
OK need to check it out here It does state that it is not Mac compatible, if they bothered to include that I would take that as a clue. Well, good luck with it.

Have you tried mounting the camera to your desktop?
