The P800 does work with OSX

I have a PB 12" and a P800.

I can transfer files via bluetooth to and from both with no problem.

I have also transferred my Address Book intact and perfect.

Admittedly the P800 does not work with iSync, but it mat come soon.

My P800 works sweetly with OSX 10.2.4 as well. I can transfer Address Book contacts individually but not as a group. Has anyone found a way of doing multiple contact transfers in one go yet? My address book is too large for one by one transfer.

Just select all the contacts you want to in address book (or command-a for all of them) and then export. Then Bluetooth file exchange them over to the P800.

Works like a charm for me from a Powerbook G4 15/17" to a P800.

There seems to a limit to the number of contacts that you can export in one file. If I do the whole lot (900+) then it always reports a damaged file on the P800. I have experimented more today and find that selcting smaller subsets (less than 100 seems OK) in Adress book and selecting "send this card" seems to work each time.

Now I'm happy and content to wait for iSync 1.1 (whenever it comes!).

(Using Al 12" PB 640Mb)

OS X will get "P800" compitability in 3-4 weeks with a iSync update bundled with systemupdate 10.2.5.

I have transferred my contacts over, numbering around 800, with no problem exporting them all to one file in address book and then using Bluetooth File Exchange to send them over.

Is this speculation, or do you have first hand knowledge that 10.2.5 has a version of iSync which definately works with the P800?

A SonyEricsson/Apple representive at the Cebit fair in Hannover Germany said that Apple is working hard to release a update that would include P800 compability. The most probable release for this is with the 10.2.5 update that are expected in a few weeks. And the new SonyEricsson 610 phone is already working fine with OS X. The guy at the fair showed me a demo of that.

Thanks for that information. I'm taking the opportunity to prune my Address book of redundant data to bring it down in size a little.

BTW, Don't you just hate non relational databases and have to update every company detail in every record. Sigh.

Shame that SE doesn't support anything else Mac. Not the Data cable, not the image software nor half the Clie's or MD players.

True...However Apple seems to have some kind of "partership" with SonyEricsson. Their lifestyle magazine was also filled with Apple browser screenshots, iMacs, Powerbook ADs etc..
