Im trying to watch a movie(avi) using VLC, and at first it began to play on my laptop speakers and so I changed the audio device to the Soundsticks through VLC, I changed my system preferences to use the Soundsticks as a default already. VLC just gives me the colorful wheel thing...Does anyone know what I should do to solve this?

Do you have the latest version of VLC? I believe the latest is 0.5.2.
Having said that, I still keep 0.4.6 around because for some movies it works better than the latest version. They have all versions of their program available for download.

Thanks, I didn't think it was a VLC version problem at first, but I installed 5.1a and everything was fine. VLC 5.2 worked for me up until now, I wonder what went wrong.

I don't quite understand either why 0.4.6 works better for some movies.
Glad to hear that it's working for you now though.
I can't wait for the 1.0 release of VLC. It's such an awesome player right now, and it hasn't even reached 1.0. It plays all the MPEGs that QuickTime says it can't play too. What an app!

edit: changed program to app to be more "Mac-like."
