I've had the hardest time finding a good holder for my iPOD while im running. Something neoprene would be great. Does anyone have any good solutions or ideas?
Also the earbuds suck for running --anyone have good recommendations for running earphones?

For running I stick it in my pocket or put it on my tredmill so really no help there but headphones I use the sony MDR-Q33LP/S Headphones, they are the clip on type. They don't fall off even if your sprinting, and give good sound and are comfortable to. Also they are not totally sound absorbant so you can hear a car go by and not get run over ! Hope this helps.

Marware would be one place to check out.
Might also want to check out MinoDisco for a good selection of headphones, including some hard to find Japanese imports.

A friend of mine uses the Marware sleeve with their armband. He says that it works very well. (He runs a lot.)

As a certified fitness fanatic, I'd have to second the recommendation for the Marware iPod Sportsuit Convertible. Although it adds a little extra girth to the iPod (~1.5" w/iPod), I haven't seen anything else that allows the iPod to be shock-protected as well as scratch-proof. This comes in handy if when handling weights or frequently handle the iPod.
The model I have includes a strong clip and arm band, as well as a removable hard cover w/headphone storage and turtle shell-like protection. The clip is perfect for clipping the iPod onto thin running shorts (very tight clip) and the arm band works great for running. I don't experience and iPod bouncing or wiggling while working out/running. The iPod fits extremely snugly.
The neoprene is great for handling the iPod and the clear window perfectly fits the screen and controls. I've used it every day and there's no sign of tearing, rips, or other significant damage.
I use Sony earphones and a set of Panasonic RP-HS10 Shockwave headphones while working out. The kind with the thin plastic headband are great since they rarely fall of when running. Unfortunately, the sound on my Panasonics really sucks, so I'll be checking out that MiniDisco site - thanks for the link!

Thanks for the review. My sister just got an iPod, after lusting after the one I got for Christmas, and her only concern is it's weight while jogging. I'll see if she'd be interested that Marware set.
I told her about the iTrip and now she's going crazy wanting that too. I love converts.

No prob. MiniDisco is a pretty good store, and they seem like good people. I check it out every now and then even though my iPod had totally replaced my MD player. Good luck.
pricey, but tasty

The iPod can be a little heavy when on long jogs. My old Rio 800 felt like paper compared to the iPod, but the iPod's cool factor more than makes up for its weight. I think the key to eliminating the weight factor is to keep the iPod from bouncing around while running - if it becomes one with the runner, it won't make that much difference.
Those headphones you've displayed in that pic look really sweet. Is that one of those $150 Sony earphone sets?
And that iTrip! Very nice indeed. I've been drooling over it ever since it was announced on a Mac site. Anyone know exactly how nice the thing is? I don't see how it can "rotate out of the way" when you need to charge the iPod. After all, the pics seems to show that the iTrip plugs into both the firewire port and headphone jack.
Anyway, I can't wait for the new iPods to be announced, whenever that may be. Good luck with the jogging case search!

Oops. Didn't realize you had linked the Sony earphones pic to a retail page. It's half the price I thought it was! Hmmmmm...

The armband is a good deal and the shock protection of the case is a
good thing.
As far as headphones, I have the Nude earbuds from Sony from
minidisco.com and they are, by far, the best earbuds I've ever
heard. The bass is much more strongly pronounced than on
anything I've ever tried - closest thing I've seen to an
audiophile sound in a bud. They even outperform some large
studio monitoring headphones I've used (I'm a musician). I'd
check those out, they totally rule. I think the model is:
MDRV70EX if I'm not mistaken.

After a time, the window gets kind of gunked up so I don't
hesitate to clean the thing periodically.

OK, is there any place to buy belts for some of these cases designed specially for exercise?

I would go with the marware for the exercise issue. With their case you can attach it to an arm band, belt, bike, lanyard, car, and clip. I currently have a Super Dooper case from sfbags, and I love it and it is functionable, but I think the marware would be better for all around exerising. Here's the link for the marware sport convertiable and the accessories.

I used to have a CaseLogic neoprene belt that had a pocket on it for carrying my old walkman around. It had a belt-like fit with a plastic clasp in the front. The pocket was huge and ugly, but functional. Technically, you could place the iPod inside of it when running, but I'd go with the Marware Sportsuit. They sell all sorts of attachments as was previously mentioned.
