I bought a palm m500 from a friend the other day and cannot get it to recognize my nokia 6360 via infared to use it as a modem. Ive looked on palm's site for phone drivers, but mine wasnt listed, so i used the generic GSM driver, but it wouldnt work, nor would any of the other nokia drivers listed there. Does anyone have experience with this?

I have used a setup a little like yours; a Palm Vx and a Ericsson T39 phone. I know it's not the same, but maybe it will help you anyway.

First, create a 'Connection', from Prefs:
-> New
Name: GPRS //The name of the connection, used later.
Connection Method: IrCOMM to Modem //The modem is in the phone
Dialing: TouchTone //Don't know
Volume: Off //Sound ?
-> Detrails
Speed: 115.200 bps //Communications speed
Flow Ctl: Automatic
-----
In 'Network', Prefs;
Service: 'Your service provider' // Used by the palm for writing 'Dialing 'Your service provider'..'
User Name: 'Name' //Ask your service provider
Password:***** //Ask your service provider
Connection: GPRS //The 'connection - name'
Phone: Number //The dialup number to your service provider (Mine was *98*2#)
-> Details
Connection type: PPP
Idle timeout: //Time that lasts before the palm closes the connection if no activity.
Query DNS: //Not Checked if static DNS
Primary DNS: //The DNS from your service provider.
Secondary DNS: //The secondary DNS from your service provider.
IP Address: //Check automatic if dynamic IP

On the phone, I created a GPRS account, and then enabled the IrDA port...

Hope that could help a little.

ill give it a try, but everything ive tried simply fails to connect to the phone or says that "The phone was unable to handle your request"

i think what i need is a modem script for the 6360:/

ok, 2 things different:
on my palm, i dont have an IrCOMM to Modem as an option, but i do have a connect to modem via infrared option

the other thing is that you said you went to your phone and created a gprs account. the phone i have isnt a gprs, its a tdma, will that make a major difference? i know network speed will be slow, but i wasnt expecting much over 9.6k to begin with.
