I have a 17" CRT ADC Studio Display (The one with clear plastic) at work that is not being used becuase the base is cracked on one side. I have heard this is a common problem on these monitors becuase the plastic on the base isn't thick enough and can crack easily from the weight of the monitor. Is this true of all?And does anyone know where I can get a new base for it. Apple won't fix it

Not true of mine, the base seems extremely thick. That base can be removed through. Since it's broken anyway, just wrench it off and find something complimentary to replace it with.

Good luck.
