WellI just signed up for a new AT&T plan today and got a T68is with it. So now I need a dongle.

I found a great priced one at Mac/PC Connection

http://www.pcconnection.com/scripts/...asp?sku=423644

but it only says Windows Compatible, however on a huge list of eBay listings with other dongles that say only to be Windows compatible yet the seller will still say, "it works with 10.2!!!"

So what makes a dongle not work under 10.2? is it like PDAs? Some work and others (fine looking Sonys) don't because of drivers. Or is it like mice and other USB controls? They all work because they all use standards.

Help me out here before I buy something that won't work.

I mean I could buy a $50 one from Apple and know or a $30 one and spend the rest on that cool clicker and client software.

Thanks

I got a cheap one and it works brilliantly. The USB Devices do not need drivers so I think most will work.

They should all work the same - especially if they are USB - as they will often use the same chip.

Before a device can carry the bluetooth symbol they have to conform to certain interoperability tests.

I personally have not heard of an USB adapter that does not work with the mac.
You know it makes sense. ☼ ☼ ☼ Growl.

Well, I bought a cheap "Made in Japan" Bluetooth adapter (which has no mention of Mac compability) for my Nokia 7650, and it simply just work under 10.2. End of story

I think those USB Bluetooth adapter is just like USB mouse... you plug it in to your Mac (under 10.2), and the universal driver just work!

Unless you couldn't sleep at night due to this problem, otherwise I would say get a cheap one (or even a 2nd hand one if you don't mind; Of course it'd better be a working one) and get a SE clicker. You know, there's no point getting a Mac and T68i if you cannot show off what you can do which the PC folks cannot

I spent £25 instead of £50 on a DLink one.
I am going to spend the money I saved on the Sony Ericsson Clicker
