My iPod can't connect to a computer anymore. No Mac can recognize it. I'm trying to figure out what the hell I should do with it. I want to buy a new iPod but I would like to get some money for my old one. I can't sell the old right now because it has all of my contacts and music on it and it would be of very little use to anyone. I was thinking that if I buy myself a new iPod I could use the new iPod to put files on the the hard drive of the old iPod. I've taken the iPod apart a bunch of times, I think I can just swap out the hard drive from the old iPod and put it into the new one, reformat it, and then offer to sell it to someone and for me to put whatever files on it they want (they could mail me CDs with files). It would then be a permanent image of whatever the buyer wants.

Does this seem like a good idea? Does anyone think they would want to buy the iPod like this?

did you take it apart after or before it was brocken???

I say, if you try to fix it your self, it might end up still broken,
unless you are for certain that it is the HD of your iPOD that was the prob.

I found out that disk warrior fixed mu ipod, and months a little while later it was actually the fire wire connector playing up.. that was the 5gig model, now i sold it and have a 10gig.

My guess is that an iQuarium for a single goldfish is out of the question? :-)

Just kidding, got to keep up a stiff upper lip. I feel your pain. Maybe someone would want it for the tiny HD, do you have any idea if it still works/spins?
