I am interested in this camera. Notice on the bottom of the page is says that it does not work with OS X. I though that practically all digital cameras worked with OS X. Certainly the ones from Sony!
Can anyone deny (or confirm) what it says on this page?
I know that at least I could just buy a MemoryStick card reader, but I would rather not have to do that.

I have the DSC-U20L (the blue model) and it absolutely DOES work with OS X without any additional drivers/software. When I plug it in to USB iPhoto opens and recognises for import, and the Memory Stick mounts to the desktop.
It's a great little camera, and the case I see they are offering for free (via mail in voucher) is pretty cool too.
Have fun.

Just thought that I would let everyone know; I have the camera now and it works great! Looking in the manual can provide mac users with a bit of entertainment. The instructions for downloading to a mac take up half a page. instructions for windows are over 12 pages!!! Retarded if you ask me.

The image quality is great for such a little portable package. There are noticeable artifacts from the jpeg compression (there is no RAW option). It does not bother me at all. Macro mode is nice, but not as good as an SLRs macro mode, but what do you expect? I have used other digital cameras an dI find that I like this one the best for what I want. Which is basic candid shots of whatever I am doing. get a 128MB memory stick and you will be able to shoot for days without having to upload to a computer! I find that the supplied battery last for quite a few shots - even with flash.
Overall a great camera, I give it 9/10, I woudl have given it a 10 if there was a RAW option.

meah i think if you want a digital camera, then buy one from a camera company, Canon, Nikon, or even Olympus.
I think sonys are over rated. I am not saying that its bad just there are better cameras out there.

Depends on what you want in a camera.
An "always with you" camera has to look good (if you worry about how you look). I find that Sony has a design that caters more the the fashion conscious - My black U20 looks great when I pull it out, which is quite often by the way.

I have a Sony P50 and a Sony digital video camera (TRV17). Both have been champs...reliable, solid cameras that do exactly what they were advertised to do. The P50 has been very rugged too: had it on several major trips (including the time I dropped it in London) and it just continues to work.
I have a feeling the note in the info about the camera you asked about relates to the included software. Personally, I've never used the software, I use Adobe Photoshop elements.

Could be, but have you seen this camera? It's seriously small! This is not a camera for people who want the absolute best picture quality -- it's for people who want a camera to have with them all the time.
