For a Mac you basically have only one choice -- the pioneer superdrive. The newest one being the A05. This is the same drives Apple uses and the same drive nearly all external DVD drive makers (LaCie, Que, EZQuest ...) use. When you're selecting a drive you have to decide based on price, support and the software it comes with if it comes with software besides that they are nearly identical..
