I recently purchased a dual 1.42 G4 machine for my video business. In my old computer I had the Adaptec 2940U2W scsi adapter that i used for my capture drive for FCP. I installed the card into the new machine and it seemed to work. It was recognized in Apple System Profiler, the drive mounted on the desktop, and it was recognized in Disk Utility. But, when i try to write anything to the drive, OS X locks up and the only way to unlock it is to restart the machine. Is there *ANY* way to get this problem fixed? The card, according to Adaptec is unsupported in OS X, but in light of the fact that I just purchased a 3,000 dollar machine, I'm looking to save a bit of money.
