Yes, it can be done. There are instructions for getting normal hotsync working with it and then all that's left is for you to enable bluetooth on the TT. It's easy as pie.
On the TT:
Go to the prefs and click on the communications option. There go to bluetooth. And enable it and make it discoverable. It'll then search for discoverable devices (your mac needs to be discoverable too) and both your computer and your TT will ask for passkeys. Just enter what you want your passkeys to be and then the mac is in trusted devices (sometimes it says that it couldn't add the mac to trusted devices, but it works anyway).
Then go to the hotsync app (again on the TT) and change the connection type to Bluetooth. Hit the hotsync 'button' on the screen of the TT and you should be good to go. One caveat is that BT hotsyncing must be initiated from the TT itself using the hotsync app. Hitting the sync button the cradle will start cradle syncing even though you've got bluetooth selected. BT syncing is markedly slower than cradle syncing (1mb/s for BT vs 12 mb/s for USB, theoretically speaking), but it works well for installing small apps or just a normal syncing. For anything extensive like installing large programs or a complete backup, use the cradle. HTH.

Thanks guys - it's encouraging to know it can be done except I haven't had any success. I set up the Palm as described by Torifile (thanks for the clear instructions .... and hit the hot sync button and it searched for a bit and then said that "Unable to iniate Hotsync operation beacsue the port is in use by another application". My t68i was paired with the ibook (doh!) so I unpaired (if that's the word)...no success, rebooted the ibook, did not open any application - attempted hotsyncing again and still got the same message.
Anybody any ideas??
Thanks!
P.S. I looked at thtough the Knowledge base articles and couldn't find those instructions that were mentioned in previous posts. Anybody refer me to them so I can make sure I have not left out a step or somthing silly like that?

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention was that you need to enable the bluetooth-pda-sync-port in your connection manager settings on your mac. Maybe that's the problem? Your t68i shouldn't be causing any trouble (BT is like USB in that you can have multiple devices on the same connection).

Okay I see. Bluetooth is a bit flakey with the tungsten. My cradle has gone missing - hence the desire to get bluetooth working.
I have noticed one thing that is also happening when I attempt the sync. In hotsync manager, I have "hotsync" enabled but occasionally when I get the message "Transport Monitor" (in Bold) "Could not complete your request. (16)" and then Hotsync is then disabled when I go back into hotsync manager..
What does that mean? I wonder will the cradle not work either when I get another one..
Any ideas??

I have the TT and all is working fine. I simply added my 17" to the TT's trusted list and add the TT to my 17" trusted list. I did all the pairing stuff, etc. Also, make sure to enable the BlueTooth option in the Mac HotSync Manager. Then, to hotsync, you'll need to initiate it from the TT its self. To do this, open the 'hotsync' app on the TT and then tap the hotsync icon - just make sure that the connection type is the BlueTooth one you setup.
To the best of my knowledge, if you hit the hotsync button on your cradle, it uses the USB connection, regardless of what connection type you have selected.

I cannot get my bluetooth connection to work! I have it all set up but when I hit the HotSync icon on my palm, it connects but nothing happens! Eventually it says that it has lost the connection, but...
Any ideas?
