Hi, I am thinking about purchasing the Monsoon 2000 speaker set. I have read awsome reviews about it, and thinking about upgrading my pair of Monsoon 1000s. Anyhow...it seesm that the Monsoon 2000 needs two input signals...one for front and one for rear speakers. How can I set my PowerBook up with these speakers? I have the TiBook's sound out...USB I guess...how would this setup work?
What can I get to provide the Monsoon 2000 with dual (front and rear) input sound?

Thank you,

t

The M-audio Sonica Theater. Same as their revolution sound card, but plugs in to your USB. About $100. www.m-audio.com

I wish I knew about this Sonic Theater thinggie. I owned a set of MM-2000 (with rear speaker stands) many months ago. Got an audio-out splitter, but only the front left and rear right satellites had sound. Never got to enjoy the 340-watt of goodness.

Before I bought a Revolution I just used an audio splitter with my 5.1 speakers (center speaker lay dormant). I specifically bought the splitters which were designed for use with two sets of ear phones.

Are you going to use the Monsoon 2000's with the Sonica Theatre?

Yes, looking forward to hearing how it works out for you.

I have no use for 5.1, but I would like to eventually use digital output to a stereo receiver.

For now, I am getting ready to order a set of Cambridge SoundWorks MicroWorks 2.1 speakers. The Monsoons flat panels sounded better than the Klipsch horn speakers playing classical music (what I listen too most), but none sounded so natural as the SoundWorks. The Klipsch, especially, make the instruments sound like toy instruments.
