Okay, I have a 12" PB now and I want to pick up an external monitor. I would buy an Apple LCD as they have good color, case, etc, but the 12" has no ADC and I don't want to buy a $200 box. I prefer a higher resolution with a smaller footprint, such as 16" or even 15" 1280 x 1024. Has to support XGA/RGB as that is the only output on the PB 12".

Any suggestions?

samsung... they make awesome LCD displays. dell uses them and puts their own name on a lot of them... they usually have a lot of sales on dell.com on their "own" monitors.

next i would consider formac, they are just as sharp as Apple LCDs. Then sharp, sony, viewsonic... stay away from: gem, planar, kds, and other brands in that range... they might have great specs.. but the image quality is still different.
