how do i update my ipod software?

i noticed there a new version of ipod software so i downloaded it and installed it on my mac. i have no idea how to actually get the software to update on the ipod though.. can anyone throw some directions my way? thanks a lot.

There are instructions with the download package. Plug in your ipod into your computer, it will begin the update. When the update is finished it will tell you to unplug, and then replug your ipod into the computer so that the update can finish.
