I just purchased the epson 1260 scanner and i have a general question about the drivers involved.

the cd that came with my scanner has software only for os9. i went onto the epson website to search for the latest driver and the newest one i found supported up to 10.2.2-10.2.3.

i have 10.2.5 installed so it wont be a problem to use any of the given drivers available on the website that are made for prior os versions, is that correct?

ok i went ahead and skipped the cd and instead i went to the website, downloaded and installed 3 drivers for the 1260 made for osx.

maybe i should have installed the os9 version cd first? i noticed that one of the features 'epson smart panel' is not available. what would happen if i went ahead and installed the os9 disc now with all of the new stuff thats now already in place?

or should i just skip out on smart panel? any 1260 users with any advice?
